Our service provider team consists of general practitioners, podiatrists, pathologists, dentists, dental assistants, social workers and other allied health professionals.

An exciting career opportunity exists for an experienced receptionist to join Doutta Galla Community Health in a permanent capacity and make a difference in community health service delivery within Victoria.

Doutta Galla have four main sites, located at Niddrie, Kensington, Moonee Ponds and North Melbourne. We are seeking an individual who has experience with Medical and Health systems to work from our Kensington site.

Our Receptionists are the first point of contact for clients that access care at Doutta Galla, and are responsible for client registration, client appointments, data entry and other duties as required.

Doutta Galla Community Health Medical Practice is located in the vibrant, diverse, inner city Melbourne community of Kensington. Our community-based accredited medical practice is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, dedicated VR GPs to fill after-hours shifts

The after-hours service will be supported by a medical receptionist , Clinic/Client Triage Nurse and a Specialist Div 2 Nurse: Health Assessments, Immunisations, Breast and Pap Smears Credentialed.

As well as general medicine, our diverse community enables doctors to pursue their interests in areas of medicine such as Mental Health, Youth, Young Adults, Refugee/Asylum seekers, CALD communities and chronic disease management. You will also have easy access to pursue your research as we are in close proximity to 7 major metropolitan hospitals and the University Melbourne.

Our systems are fully electronic, we are actively involved with the Collaboratives, and participate in preventative care utilising the PEN CAT Data Extraction Tool and Doctors Control Panel. Manager- Homeless Outreach Mental Health & Housing Service (HOMHS)

Doutta Galla Community Health will lead a consortium of service providers that offer expertise in mental health, homelessness and housing, AOD, women’s specific issues and primary health to provide adults with severe and enduring mental illness and a history of repeated homelessness a pathway to better health, secure housing and increased social and economic tenure, called the Homeless Outreach Mental Health and Housing Service (HOMHS).

The service will operate using an evidence-based recovery oriented model, the Collaborative Recovery Model, which is strengths-based, future-oriented and focussed on meaningful goal setting and attainment. A team based assertive outreach model will be taken in addressing client needs.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative individual committed to recovery oriented practice to fill the role of Manager, HOMHS. The Care Plan Coordinator takes the lead role multi-disciplinary care teams, and collaborates with a variety of professionals. Care Plan Coordinators create a space for all parties involved to come to the table and work together, to secure better outcomes and ensuring recovery for people with mental illness is at the forefront. Staff will use their skills to develop comprehensive and holistic care plans, negotiate with services, and to ensure the highest quality of service provision is provided. This role requires minimal client contact, and is instead focused on developing and coordinating services. At Doutta Galla, there is ample opportunity for creativity and innovation.

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for quality community based occupational therapy services to individuals and groups within the cities of Moonee Valley and Melbourne catchment. This includes home based assessment and intervention for clients with a disability, older people and their carers - utilising health education and illness prevention strategies as appropriate. Liaison with external organisations for comprehensive and effective follow-up for clients is a key part of the role.

Allied Health Assistant

This position would suit 2 part time or one full time applicant with relevant experience. This 12 month fixed term position is responsible for working as an integral part of the Childrens Allied health time and the Adult Physiotherapy team. Together with the Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist, you will assist with the delivery of group programs and provide support in liaising with families for the smooth running of the service. In the Adult Physiotherapy team you will assist with the group exercise programs such as hydrotherapy and falls and balance group.

To be successful in this position you will be suitably qualifies, have demonstrated experience in working with young children and/or adults, and have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with families, clients and other team members.

Choices Project

Doutta Galla, Merri Community Health and Mental Illness Fellowship are excited to be partnering in the development of a client directed funding pilot in preparation for the national implementation of DisabilityCare.

This 12 month project will test and develop recommendations for the implementation of this important new policy.
