After 1 July 2012 Medicare will progressively make cash payments no longer available at their service centres. Your Medicare benefits will be paid into your bank account either by swiping your debit card at a Medicare service centre or through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
To have this service you need to register your bank account details with Medicare. For more information about the process you can phone Medicare on 132 011, or alternatively, speak to staff a Medicare service centre nearest to you.
